Bill Abbott, the town engineer, requested the Town Council's <br />approval for the Buffer Zone extension. A motion was not needed. <br />The Town Council will adopt this extension and it well take effect <br />when it is recorded. <br /> <br />Town Council President Mark Mathis reported to the Community an <br />Economic Development Team is in place. The Commissioner is <br />Mark Mathis, the assistant Commissioner is Jim Hensley. Council- <br />man Mathis's name has been given to the Department of Commerce and <br />he is working very closely with utility companies and Fi C Tu~ker <br />Realty. Councilman Mathis explained that everyone had one common <br />goal to bring business to Mooresville and everyone needed to work <br />together to accomplish that goal. The team includes Council, attorney, <br />and Clerk-Treasurer's office. <br />Mark Taylor, Animal Control Officer, reported 40 (forty) calls, <br />9 (nine) impounded, and 2 (two) returned. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Hensley <br />to make a one-time sewer exemption for swimming pool fills to <br />three individual properties: Jack Carver, 699 Rose Lane;Russell <br />Warthen, 142 Carlisle Street; andSteven Rozzel, 442 Village Blvd. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright <br />to set a $1,000 (one thousand dollar) threshold for the Fixed <br />Assets Ledger which needs completed by December 31, 1996. <br /> <br />A Petty Cash Fund for the Police Department at 104 West Main Street <br />was established on record in the minutes ( per conversation with <br />Todd Austin, Regional Auditor) of $100.00 (one hundred dollars). <br />This Petty Cash Fund will be reconciled every Friday. The Police <br />Department will bring receipts to the Town Hall once a week or <br />~hen they acquire $50.00 (Fifty) worth of receipts. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Wright <br />for approval of the bills with the exception of Covert Communications. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Town Council <br /> at this time, motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by <br /> Councilman Wright to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting will by Monday, May 20, 1996 <br /> at 7:30 P.
