January 17, 1989 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees was held <br /> Tuesday, January 17, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Present were Trustees Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards, Jack <br /> Forbes and Mike Fiscus. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Board President Mike Fiscus made the following appointments of Trustees: <br />-- Trustee Jack Forbes: Fire Commissioner <br /> Park Con~nissioner <br /> i Assistant Building & Grounds <br /> <br /> Trustee Dick Heald: Cemetery Co~missioner <br /> Court Commissioner <br /> Assistant Police Con, missioner <br /> <br /> Trustee Steve Edwards: Sewer Commissioner <br /> Building & Grounds Con, missioner <br /> Assistant Street Con~nissioner <br /> Assistant EDC <br /> <br /> Trustee Pat Overholser: Street Con, missioner <br /> EDC Commissioner <br /> Assistant Sewer Commissioner <br /> <br /> Trustee Mike Fiscus: Police Con, missioner <br /> Assistant Fire Con, missioner <br /> <br /> Board President Mike Fiscus appointed Vern K~I and Shirley Welker to <br /> four year terms on the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee Heald to re-appoint <br /> Steve Edwards, William Abbott and Warren Franklin to the Planning Co~mission. <br /> ~ Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Overholser to <br /> appoint Allan Kramer to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Motion carried with <br /> Trustee Forbes abstaining. <br /> <br /> The board discussed the problem of large rocks in the cemetery making it <br /> very difficult to dig graves. The board instructed the street department to <br /> dig out a section about five feet deep to enable the board to assess the problem. <br /> <br /> The board was advised that the sewer department would be meeting with <br /> Thompson Engineering Co. on Wednesday, January 18, 1989 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss <br /> televising sewer lines in town. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Overholser to <br /> approve a sewer line and easement dedication from Cloverleaf Properties. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee Overholser to <br /> adopt the Procedure for Selecting Consultants for Grants. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Police Chief George Ditton advised the board that all officers have qualified <br /> with their new firearms. Chief Ditton also informed the board that the remodeling <br /> of the squad room would be completed by the end of the week. <br /> <br /> '--'-- The board instructed the Clerk-Treasurer to contact Trapper Jack about the <br /> continuing problem with the pigeons. <br /> <br /> The board will meet in executive session Tuesday, January 24, 1989 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> in the EDC office. <br /> Board President Fiscus congratulated Economic Development Director Randy <br /> Haymaker on being named Mooresvillian of the Year. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Edwards to approve <br /> the bills and claims. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Town Board of Trustees <br /> at this time motion was made to adjourn by Trustee Overholser, second by <br /> Trustee Heald.
