Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve the change order in the <br /> amount of$7,076.00. <br /> Legal: Attorney Currens informed the council that in the near future he would have an <br /> amendment to the sewer use ordinance and a new animal ordinance. <br /> Park: Jim Ransome reported the basketball court was completed. The court is full length with <br /> adjustable goals on each end. He thanked the council for approving use from Food& Beverage <br /> monies. <br /> Town Hall: A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin <br /> to transfer$70,000.00 from Wastewater Operating to Wastewater Improvement. Motion carried <br /> 4-0. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty tlu-ee(23) calls, seven(7) impounds, and <br /> three(3) returns. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Cook to approve <br /> payment of the claims. M. at <br /> the Mooresville Government.Center. <br /> Town council members present were: President Mark Harris, Vice-President Jeff Cook, John L. <br /> Clark, Ryan Goodwin, and'Pony Langley. No members were absent. 'Town attorney Tian <br /> Currens was present. <br /> Jeff Newton from the Mooresville Free Methodist Church gave the invocation. <br /> A.motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve the <br /> minutes of April 21, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Chris Branson appeared before the council with a request something to be done with the alley <br /> west of his home and Carlisle Funereal Hume off of High Street going south. The traffic used <br /> this alley as a cut thru to avoid the stoplight at High Street and South Indiana Street. Street <br /> Superintendent Joe Beikman suggested making the alley one way going north. Mr. Branson said <br /> they would be happy to pay for siguage if necessary. Mr. Beikman said the alley was not built: <br /> for the amount of traffic it is catching. Council President Mark Harris said lie wouldn't be <br /> comfortable vacating the alley but would approve one-way north. A motion was made by <br /> CO'Lincilinan Goodwin to make the alley one-way north from South Street to Iligh Street. <br /> Cowicilman Langley said lie would like to know what the other residents think on farther south. <br /> The motion died for lack of a second.. A motion was made by Councilman to make the alley one <br /> way north to the first alley. Councilman Cook seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Jerry Neal, son of Marriane Neal,presented a request for permission to hook on to the sewer. <br /> The property is on Landcc: :'!'tn Rowl across from the soccer field. Mr. Neal said he would not <br /> oppose annexation and would talk with Joe Beikniarr'about the fees. A motion was inade by <br /> Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to appr o vc.
