Cemetery plots were discussed in the Mooresville Cemetery. They discussed some c 929 <br /> plots that have a potential for flooding. Brian from Banning pulled out the flood maps and took <br /> some information he had to compare where the flood levels were. The west side plots need to be <br /> removed from the plat and east side could get under water. Brian needs to do search with DNR <br /> to see what needs to be done. He recommended not moving forward with platting until some <br /> research is done. Councilman Goodwin said he was in favor of slowing down and looking at it <br /> and doing it right. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman <br /> Clark to have everyone work together to come up with something else. <br /> Councilman Langley asked about the on duty injury policy that was on the original agenda. <br /> Council President Harris and Tim Currens are going to meet on Wednesday concerning the <br /> policy. <br /> Legal: Steve Overton, Overton& Sons, explained the need for equipment abatement. They are <br /> buying a wiring machine that cuts thru about any kind of material. The machine costs <br /> $152,100.00 and qualifies for three year abatement. A motion was made by Councilman Clark <br /> with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve findings of fact. Motion carried 4-1 with <br /> Councilman Harris opposing. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by <br /> Councilman Goodwin to approve Confirmatory Resolution#7, 2009 for abatement on <br /> equipment. Motion carried 4-1 with Councilman Harris opposed. <br /> There will be an executive session on Wednesday, October 281", at 6:00 P. M. for interviews with <br /> Fire Chief applicants. This will be held at the Mooresville Government Center Room 200. <br /> Animal Control officer, Marls Taylor, reported sixteen(16) calls, eight(8) impounds, and six (6) <br /> returns. <br /> Jeff Pipkin, Morgan County EDC, announced they were down to three applicants for Director. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to approve <br /> payment of claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no fir-trier business to come before the coin-icil at this time a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim <br /> Currens was present. <br /> John, Mooresville Church of God, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve the <br /> minutes of Sept 28x1 and October 20th. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Attorney Tim Curren wants to meet with HNTB and Thieneman on Thursday to make sure the <br /> disputes are covered before paying pay request#10 for 23,362.70 and approving the certification <br /> of substantial completion.
