1153 <br /> July 1, 2014 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present were: President Mark Mathis, Vice-President <br /> Virginia Perry, and George Watkins. Jeff Cook and Tony Langley were absent. <br /> Town attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> Randy Weddle, Community Church of Mooresville, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilwoman <br /> Perry to approve minutes of June 17, 2014 meeting. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> New Business: Paving bids: There was only one bid received from Wallace <br /> Construction for$232,073.00. The bond was included. David Moore, Street <br /> Superintendent, looked over the documents to make sure they were correct. <br /> Old Settlers Parade street closing permit: A motion to approve was made by <br /> Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilwoman Perry. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Dog Ordinance: Legal counsel is checking on this and sent a letter to the Judge, <br /> Sue Leib, and copied Mark Taylor. After the three discuss this item it will come <br /> back before the council.. <br /> Health Insurance: A motion was made by Councilman Watkins with a second by <br /> Councilwoman Perry to approve the renewal. Motion carried 3-0 <br /> Plan Commission appointment: A motion was made by Councilman Watkins with <br /> a second by Councilwoman Perry to appoint Virginia Perry to be a member of the <br /> Plan Commission. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> Apple Fest and 5K Run: St. Thomas More Church- this event will be held on <br /> September 4th and 5th. Request is for a banner to hang over North Indiana Street. <br /> The 5K run will begin and go north on Indiana, east on County Line, and south on <br /> Indianapolis Road to pioneer Park. The streets will not be closed. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilwoman <br /> Perry to approve. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> TOA availability fees: A motion was made by Councilman Watkins with a second <br /> by Councilwoman Perry to approve as submitted on June 26, 2014. Motion <br /> carried 3-0. <br /> Chelsey Mann, Morgan County Economic Development Corporation, presented an <br /> SB-1 for personal property (equipment) for Linel. The equipment cost is $225,000 <br /> and scored 13 points on the matrix equaling a 3 year abatement. A motion was <br /> made by Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilwoman Perry to approve <br /> Declaratory Resolution 9, 2014. Motion carried 3-0. Confirmatory Resolution <br /> public hearing will be July 15, 2014. <br /> David Moore had reviewed the Wallace bid and told the council it fell within the <br /> specs. A motion was made by Councilwoman Perry with a second by Councilman <br /> Watkins to approve the Wallace bid for paving. <br />
