<br />. <br /> <br />In 1982, the average house within a ten mile radius of <br />Mooresville was valued at $37,139. This compared with average <br />values of $31,222 within Morgan County and $39,339 in Indiana. <br /> <br />Employment <br /> <br />There is less unemployment in Morgan County than in Indiana <br />overall. Unemployment among the county's total labor force of <br />28,130 in April of 1989 was 3,9%, compared to 4.0% within <br />Indiana. <br /> <br />Within Morgan County, about one-third of total wages and <br />salaries is attributable to manufacturing. Retail sales <br />within Morgan County averaged $3,209 per capita in 1982, 26% <br />less than the state average of $4,324. <br /> <br />In 1980, nearly 40% of Morgan County's labor force commuted to <br />jobs outside the county.
