<br />224.12 <br /> <br />224.13 <br /> <br />224.14 <br /> <br />requirements of other agencies having jurisdiction <br />over discharge to the receiving waters. <br /> <br />Any substance which will cause the wastewater works <br />to violate it's NPDES permit or the receiving <br />stream's water quality. <br /> <br />Any wastewater containing toxic pollutants In <br />sufficient quanity either singularly or be <br />interaction with other pollultants, to injure or <br />interfere with any wastewater treatment process, <br />constitute a hazard to humans or animals, create a <br />toxic effect in the receiving water of the <br />wastewater plant, or to exceed applicable <br />categorical retreatment standards. <br /> <br />Any substance which will cause the wastewater <br />treatment plant to violate its NPEDS permit or the <br />receiving stream's water quality standards. <br /> <br />225. If any waters or wastes are discharged, or are proposed to be <br />discharged, to the public sewers, which waters contain the <br />substance or possess the characteristics enumerated in <br />Paragraph 224 hereinabove, and which in the judgment of the <br />Town Council may have a deleterious effect upon the sewage <br />works, processes, equipment, or receiving waters, or which <br />otherwise create a hazard to life or constitute a public <br />nuisance, the Town Council shall: <br /> <br />225.1 <br /> <br />225.2 <br /> <br />225.3 <br /> <br />225.4 <br /> <br />225.5 <br /> <br />industries or industries with <br />increase In discharges to submit <br />on wastewater characteristics and <br />approval for discharges. <br /> <br />Require new <br />significant <br />information <br />obtain prior <br /> <br />Require other methods of disposal; and/or <br /> <br />Require pretreatment to an acceptable condition for <br />discharge to the public sewers; and/or <br /> <br />Require control over the quantities and rates of <br />discharge; and/or <br /> <br />Each Discharger shall provide protection from <br />accidental discharge of substances regulated by <br />this Ordinance. Where necessary, facilities to <br />prevent accidental discharge of prohibited <br />materials as defined in Sections 223 and 224 shall <br />be provided and maintained at the Discharger's cost <br />and expense. Detailed plans showing facilities and <br />operating procedures to provide this protection <br />shall be submitted to the Authority for review, and <br />shall be approved by the Authority before <br />construction of the facility. Each existing <br />Discharger shall complete its plan and submit same <br />to the Authority by sixty (60) days from the effec- <br />tive date of this Ordinance. No Discharger who <br />discharges to the POTW after the aforesaid date <br />shall be permitted to introduce pollutants into the <br />system until Accidental Discharge Protection <br />Procedures have been approved by the Authority. <br />Review and approval of such plans and operating <br />procedures by the Authority shall not relieve the <br />Discharger from the responsibility to modify its <br />facility as necessary to meet the requirements of <br />this Ordinance. <br /> <br />Dischargers shall notify the Authority immediately <br />upon the occurrence of a "slugload", or accidental <br />discharge of substances prohibited by this <br />Ordinance. The notification shall include location <br />of discharge, date and time thereof, type of waste, <br />concentration and volume, and corrective actions. <br /> <br />-12- <br />
