1169 <br /> March 3, 2015 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 6:30 P. M.at the <br /> Mooresville Government Center, <br /> Town Council members present: President Mark Mathis,Vice-President Virginia Perry,Tony Langley, <br /> Joe Beikman, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent.Town attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> Mark Mathis gave the prayer. <br /> A motion was made by Councilwoman Perry with a second by Councilman Beikman to approve the <br /> minutes of February 17, 2015 meeting, Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Public Hearing for annexation: 1. Lassiter, 2. Baker,3.George H. Fields Living Trust. Joanne Fields <br /> Revocable Trust and Life Estate. No one signed to speak at the hearing from the audience and no one <br /> from the council spoke. A motion was made by Councilwoman Perry with a second by Councilman <br /> Langley to close the public hearing. Motion carried 5-0, The next step will be findings of fact and <br /> ordinance at the first meeting in April to approve. <br /> Dave Moore, Street Superintendent, requested to hire a full time replacement for a full time employee <br /> that is leaving. He wants to start the application process. A motion was made by Councilman Beikman <br /> with a second by Councilwoman Perry to allow him to hire a replacement when his employee leaves. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Wastewater bad debts: Tim Currens reported if the home has'been sold the Auditor will not file the <br /> lien. Attorney Currens told the council they area public works board and can file these individually in <br /> small claims court at a cost or write them off.A motion was made by Councilman Beikman with a second <br /> by Councilwoman Perry to write off$2.345.13 in bad debts prior to 2014. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made to approve the EDIT Plan for 2015-16 by Councilman Langley with a second by <br /> Councilman Cook. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Cook to approve payment of <br /> claims in the amount of$392,957.05, Motion carried 5-0. <br /> President Mathis praised the street superintendent Dave Moore and the street department for doing <br /> such a good job of cleaning snow off the roads in town after last weekend's storm. <br /> Celebrate Mooresville will be March 24th, 2015 at mid-day. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Langley with a s-cond by Councilman Beikman to adjourn the meeting.
