AN <br /> <br />ORDINANCE ENACTING STAGGERED TERMS AND ESTABLISHING RESIDENCY <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR TOWN TRUSTEES, PURSUANT TO I.C.18-3-1-16 <br /> AS AMENDED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 100th Session of the <br />the State of Indiana, amended I.C.18-3-1-16 <br /> <br />boards may, by ordinance, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is <br /> <br />of Mooresville, Indiana, <br />thereby lending continuity <br />of the town's affairs; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE <br /> <br />provide for <br /> <br /> General Assembly of <br /> <br />to provide that town <br />staggered terms for trustees~ <br /> <br />in the best interests of the Civil Town <br />to have staggered terms for Trustees, <br /> <br /> and experience to the administration <br /> <br />IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> <br />OF THE CIVIL TOWN <br /> <br /> Sec <br /> <br />be elected <br /> <br />OF MOORESVILLE, INDIANA, THAT: <br /> <br /> ARTICLE I~ <br /> <br /> The terms of offices for the town <br /> <br />on November 6, 1979 shall be <br /> <br /> (a) Ward 1 - 2 years <br /> (b) Ward 2 4 years <br /> (c) Ward 3 2 years <br /> (d) Ward 4 4 years <br /> (e) Ward 5 2 years <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />trustees to <br /> <br /> Sec. 2. The trustees elected on November 6, 1979 shall <br />serve the terms designated in Sec. 1, Article I, beginning on <br />January 1, 1980. <br /> <br /> Sec. 3. The successors to the Trustees elected <br /> <br />Wards 1, 3 and 5 on November 6, 1979, shall be elected at <br />election to be held on November 3, 1981 and their successors <br />shall serve for terms of four (4) years. <br /> <br />from <br />a town <br /> <br /> Sec. 4. The successors to the Trustees elected from <br />Wards 2 and 4 on November 6, 1979, and beginning their terms on <br />January 1, 1980, shall be elected and serve for terms of four <br /> <br />(4) years. <br /> <br /> <br />
