258 <br /> <br /> March 27, 1995 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in special session Monday, <br /> March 27, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, Tim Viles, <br /> Andy Pygman, Bill Wright and Dick Heald. No members were absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting will be approved at the <br /> next regular Council meeting due to the fact that the Council <br /> has not had an opportunity to review them at this point. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to award the cemetery grass mowing bid for 1995 to <br /> Pitman Mowing which was the low bid of $585.00 per mowing. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ross Holloway appeared before the Council requesting <br /> permission for Mr. Iester lewis to access the Town's sewer system <br /> for his minor plat which was approved at the March Plan Commission. <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br /> Viles to approve sewer availability for Mr. Iester lewis. The cost <br /> of the availability fee will be $1,100.00 per lot, plus $900.00 <br /> per permit fee. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser, second by Councilman <br /> Wright to approve Resolution #3-1995 A Resolution of the Town of <br /> Mooresville Securing the REA loan with Food and Beverage Tax Proceeds <br /> Motion carried unanimously. · <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Overholser reported to the Council that the committee <br /> to appoint an Economic Development Director had reviewed forty <br /> resumes and interviewed four candidates for the position. Council- <br /> woman Overholser stated the recommendation of the committee was <br /> to hire Mr. Gary Canaday as the Mooresville Economic Development <br /> Director. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br /> Viles to appoint Gary Canaday the Mooresville Economic Development <br /> Director. motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Overholser announced the Economic Development <br /> position will pay $32,320.00 from the General Fund, $10,680.00 from <br /> the sewer fund, $456.00 will be invested in the 457K Plan, and <br /> this position will be supplied a Ford Tauras which will be leased <br /> from Wilcher Ford. The Council concurred with this package. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pygman informed the Council that the drainage <br /> problem at 220 E. Washington Street was being corrected. The <br /> land owner will pay for material and the Town will supply the <br /> labor for this project. Councilwoman Overholser inquired as to the <br /> Town's cost of this project. Councilman Pygman did not have this <br /> information. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported he has received <br /> twelve (12) calls, four (4) animals impounded and one (1) animal <br /> returned to their owner. <br /> <br /> Council President Heald announced that the Council will not <br /> meet at the regular scheduled time of April 3, 1995. The next <br /> regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will <br /> be Monday, April 17 1995 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town <br /> Hall. ' <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilman <br /> Pygman to approve the bills and claims. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
