Under the Police Department, Police Chief Tim Viles was present to ask the Council to <br />address the pay differential for full tune middle and late shift dispatchers. The shift <br />differential currently applies only to officers. President Worthen stated that when the <br />shift differential for officers was passed it was presented by the Police Commission who <br />only represents sworn officers and not civilians. Chief Viles stated that there were three <br />full time employees involved, one on middle shift, one on late shift and one person who <br />works a swing shift as a relief person. The differential pay would be the same as with the <br />officers, which is $.25 per hour for middle shift and $.50 per hour for late shift. The rate <br />for the swing shift employee would be figured based an the hours worked on each shift. <br />A motion to amend the 2007 Salary Ordinance and add. the shift differential for the three <br />full time late and middle shift dispatchers was made by Councilman Dolen, second by <br />Councilman Clark and carried 4-1. Tom Worthen opposed. <br />Under the Street Department, President Worthen stated that he has asked Joe Beikman to <br />get some quotes on camera equipment for the sewers and we need a vehicle to store it in <br />if it is purchased. He has asked Joe to get a price for the vehicle from the QPA. The <br />truck could be funded by LR&S and the camera equipment could be funded by Foad and <br />Beverage. <br />Under the Parks Department, President Worthen stated that a truck for the Park has been <br />ordered. They will trade in the small Utility Department Truck and will give David <br />Moore their truck with aTommy-Lift. Brent Callahan will give his current truck back to <br />the Park and will drive the new one. The new truck will be a 2007 Ford F-150 Super Cab <br />four wheel drive and will be purchased through the State QPA. It will cost $21,308,00 <br />and will be funded by Food and Beverage. <br />A motion to fund the purchase of the new truck for the Park through Faad and Beverage <br />was made by Councilman Clark, second by Councilman Shields and carried 5-0. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor reported 12 calls, 4 impounds and 2 returns. <br />A motion fox the approval of the claims was made by Councilman Clark, second by <br />Councilman Harris and carried 5-0. <br />There being no further business to came before the Council at this time, a motion to <br />adjourn the meeting was made by Councilman Dalen, second by Councilman Shields. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on February 6, 2007 at 6:30 <br />p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />~ } _ _ <br />Ld'',.~ <br />President, Tom Worthen <br />ATTEST: .... _~ <br />~, <br />/rvr. <br />Sandra R. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Town Council members present were: President Tom Wartlzen, Mark Harris, John L. <br />Clark, Toby Doien, and Eric Shields. Na members were absent. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve the minutes of January 16, 2007. Motion carried 5-U. <br />A Public hearing was held for the additional appropriation of $100,000 for Brown <br />Township ambulance services for 2406 and 2007. Motion carried 4-1. Councilman <br />~~~7 <br />Harris apposed. <br />
