~1~ <br />February 15, 2005 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, February 1 S, 2005, at <br />6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Tawn Hall. <br />Council members present were: President Tom Worthen, Troy Bryant, John L. Clark, <br />and Toby Dolen. Eric Shields was absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was present. <br />Tom Worthen gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve the minutes of February 1, 2005. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Brad Cole, Universal Valuation, appeared before the council with an amended contract. <br />The storage and office building at the Park will be appraised at a cost not to exceed <br />$750.00 plus disbursements. The total yearly update fee for all building items appraised, <br />including Park Office and Storage is now $500.00. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Clark with a second by Councilman Bryant to approve the contract. Motion carried 4-0 <br />and the contract was signed. <br />Prevailing Wage Board- last year Greg Swinney and Jim Ransome served on this board. <br />Don Allen will take Jim Ransome's place. A motion was made by Councilman Clark <br />with a second from Councilman Dolen to appoint Greg Swinney and Don Allen to the <br />Prevailing Wage Board. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Next, was the appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals from the Plan Commission <br />Board. Chris Crouch previously held this appointment. The Board of Zoning Appeals <br />consists of two members from the Plan Commission and three appointees. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to appoint Charles <br />McGuire from the Flan Commission to serve on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />The council signed Darrell Browris appointment to the Plan Commission. <br />Council President Worthen announced the passing of Jim Bruner, Fire Inspection Officer <br />for the Town of Mooresville, on Monday, February 14, 2005. The Council President <br />gave a little talk about Jim and announced the calling hours on Thursday, February 17, <br />from 4:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. and the funeral on Friday, February 18, at 11:00 A. IVI. <br />Both the calling and the funeral were at Mt. Gilead Church on State Highway 144. <br />Councilman Bryant mentioned to Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, that some of the <br />light bulbs are out on the new decorative streetlights. Mr. Beikman said that IPL wanted <br />exact street addresses far each light that needed bulbs. Councilman Bryant will get the <br />addresses of the lights needing bulbs. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty (20) calls, five (S) impounds, and <br />3 (three) returns. <br />The next scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council is March 1, 2005 at 6:30 P. <br />M. This will also be a public hearing for the Fire Territory. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Dolen to <br />approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen with a second by Councilman Bryant to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />__~ <br />ATTEST: <br />Sandra R.
