Mr_ Mudd <br />asked. if he could take a petition around to get names, would that help his situation. He <br />said as far as he knew there were twoiout of eight en homes against this: Attorney <br />Currens said if that is done the Town would prepa a petition to set forth the things the <br />Town would want. Councilman :[3ryant asked if 1Vl .Mudd should bring this to the next <br />meeting. Mr. Currens said yes. lblr. Mudd said the e a lot of homeowners for this, but <br />cost was the issue. Eric Rogers, a resident in the addition, asked how annexation would <br />affect them. Cost is an issue with him. Councilman Bryant said this information would <br />he provided in the petition Attorney Currens was going to draft and this information <br />would be discussed at the meeting. He told Mr. Rogers the hook-on fee would be $900 <br />per house, then they would have the cost of the lateral from their house to hook into the <br />main, cost of the lateral will depend on how many feet from their house to the main. Mr. <br />Rogers asked if there was a requirc-lxent to hook onto the sewer or if they could stay on <br />the septic. Tizn Currens said there would be a requirement to hook-on. Councilman <br />Bryant said the homeowner would ~llsv be required to puri~tp out septic; tank, fill with <br />sand, and bust up the cement lici. He also told IVir. Rogers`~the tax rate would be different, <br />the nixes would b,e going to the town of NCoaresville (the r.~1te between Brown Township <br />and Mooresvill~j was minimal.), plus you get services, polio and fire protection, leaf pick- <br />up, voting righ~s, and snow rerTZOVaI. _ <br />F <br />Councilmar~~Bryant reported to the council about the Christrz~~s bights. We received <br />some information from different rnmpanies on this and he e some: phone calls and <br />looked ar~iund; he did not see at~y he liked any better that the ecorations in Plainfield. <br />They range in price and as much as you want to spend they wi~make for you. He put <br />numbers together for 48 poles and the cost for banners for the new antique street lights <br />and ~t<~ing conservative with a 30°li> discount for under $20,000 Iwo could get nice ones. <br />Ther'e.~"znight bean additional cost irz h~urdware. The C1crk-Treasu~'er said they could <br />encumber $40,000 from the Town Hall budget.:l~le is also getting a price on storage. A <br />motion was made by Councilm~u~ Bryant and a second by Cc~imciln~an Claxk to approve <br />encumbering $40,000 from Town 1-1a11 budget for Christmas Decorations.
