Rita Sechrest, a business owner, told the <br />council she was at the plan commission meeting and said the town had enough car lots <br />and wished the developer would use a more quaint approach to the area. Diana Justus, <br />owner of Muddy Waters, told the council she was also at the plan commission meeting. <br />and she does not want to see a car lot. She said that Pat Overholser, Children's Park <br />could. not attend the meeting, but she feels the same way. Roy Terrell, speaking for Jeff <br />Yeager, Squealer's Restaurant, who couldn't make it to the meeting told the council he <br />had cleaned out a lot of brush so that businesses could be seen from the highway. Brad <br />Mynah, a resident on Comer Lane, told the council his concern was the traffic at the <br />proposed entrance. Gwen Comer, Comer Lane, said the intersection was very dangerous <br />because the traffic comes around the corner very fast. Diane Justus said this was not <br />about economic growth, but about appearance on an entrance intersection into the Town. <br />Mr. Haggard told the council he understood the concerns, but the land was zoned B-2 <br />now and that could be retail and high volume traffic. He said he thought what he had <br />planned cosmetically fit. The plan commission had voted 5-2 with one abstention to <br />recommend to the Town Council to deny the rezone. Motion was made by Councilman <br />Bryant, second by Councilman Worthen to deny the rezone from B-2 to B-3. Motion <br />carried 3-1 with Councilman Clark opposed. Councilman Mathis had left the meeting <br />before the petition was presented. <br />Legal: Presidential appointment to the Park and Recreation Board of David Pearson. <br />1Vlotion was made to re-appoint town employees Tim Bennett and Jim Bruner to the Plan <br />Commission and to appoint Troy Bryant to the Plan Commission to replace Andy <br />Pygman. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported: twenty-one (21) calls, five (5) <br />impounds, and three (3) returns. <br />Cemetery:. Cemetery Sexton, Ed Bucker, told the council the gravedigger was raising his <br />prices and there would need to be a new contract. Mr. Bucker will give the prices to <br />Town attorney Tim Currens for the contract. <br />Motion was made by Councilman. Clark, second by Councilman Worthen to approve <br />payment of the claims. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Bryant, second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on Tuesday, February 4, <br />2003, at 6:30 P.
