Motion <br /> carried 34 <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 6:30 <br /> P. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> February 17, 2009 <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, February 17,2009, at 6:30 P. <br /> M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present were: President Mark Harris, Jeff Cook, John L. Clark, and <br /> Tony Langley. Ryan Goodwin was absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> Kelly Carter, First Christian Church, gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve <br /> minutes of February 3, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Rob Hill,President of LSG, Inc., appeared before the council to give a history of his company <br /> which included contributions put back to Mooresville. Councilman Goodwin advised him to <br /> appear before the council. Council President Mark Harris asked to table the awarding of bid <br /> until Councilman Goodwin was present. The other town council members agreed. <br /> Amy Miller, a grant writer from Cornerstone Grants Management, Inc., appeared before the <br /> council to talk about grants and how to get started applying for the stimulus money. An income <br /> survey by phone has to be completed and low to moderate income to qualify. They will probably <br /> have to do 400 callings. The Office of Community Affairs wants a list of projects. Council <br /> President Mark Harris asked the councilto give him some projects and he will submit them to <br /> Amy Miller before February 25'x. Ms, Miller will get quotes from two places to do the phone <br /> survey and will come back to March 3'd,2009 council meeting. <br /> Council President Mark Harris recommended retaining Ryan Goodwin and Mark Mathis for the <br /> Morgan County Economic Development Board and Mark Mathis on executive board, A motion <br /> was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to approve. Motion <br /> carried 4-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to use Food and <br /> Beverage money to pay for clean up of the Romaine property since the park bought the property <br /> from Food and Beverage money. The cost will be between$6,000 and$10,000. Motion carried <br /> 4-0. <br /> Legal: An agreement with PERF for the buyback for the council to sign,but Attorney Currens <br /> wants to research the agreement further. This will be tabled until further investigation. <br /> Apotion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to appoint Jeff <br /> Cook as Town Council Vice-President. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Les Farmer,Fire Chief, announced the new Fire Station should be completed in two weeks. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor,reported seventeen(17) calls, six (6)impounds, and six <br /> (6)returns. <br />
