Council President, Mark Barris, reported the 2009 budget was approved without <br /> any changes. <br /> Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported thirty(30) calls, eight (8) <br /> impounds, mud six (6) returned. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman <br /> Goodwin to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the town council at this time a <br /> motion was made by Councilman.Cook with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> adjourn the meeting. Perry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> March 17, 2009 <br /> The Mooresville.Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 6:30 P. <br /> M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present: President Mark Harris, Vice-President Jeff Cook, John. L. <br /> Clark, Ryan Goodwin, and Tony Langley. No members were absent. Attorney Tim Currens was <br /> present. <br /> Gene Deverick, Grace Church, gave the invocation. <br /> Airy Miller, Cornerstone Grants Management, Inc.was not present. <br /> Larry Lawyer, Mooresville Junior Baseball League, requested approval for a parade route on <br /> Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 8:30 A. M. The route will be the same as in the past. A motion was <br /> made by Councilman Langley, with a second by Councilman Clark to approve the parade, but as <br /> soon as the parade is over the children have to get out of the back of the trucks. Motion carried. <br /> 5-0. <br /> Reorganization: A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman <br /> Goodwin to approve appointing Mike Haskins for another year to the Redevelopment <br /> Commission. Motion carried 5-0. The Council President had appointed Jim Ransome to the <br /> Redevelopment Commission for another year at an earlier meeting. <br /> Council President Mark Harris commented the council was looking for some more space in the <br /> Government Center to conduct business. Council Vice President Jeff Cook offered the Chamber <br /> of Commerce the space that is available across the street in the old Town Hall. Councilman <br /> Langley asked if anyone from the Chamber of Conunerce was present to comment on the move. <br /> Angela Cath, a director from the Chamber was taken by surprise but commented that since the <br /> Chamber was a Welcome Center, she preferred they stayed in the Government Center. She said <br /> they had appreciated the time using the office space and they hadn't worked out an agreement to <br /> pay back last years rent. She asked if this could be tabled so she could take it back to the <br /> Chamber. She wants to sit down as two community entities to talk. Council President Harris <br /> saidhe had spoken with Lorie Cole about this,but Angela Cath said Lorie was not a director. A <br /> motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Goodwin to table to a later <br /> time. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Unfinished business: At the last meeting the council talked about information leaks concerning <br /> the cemetery bids. It was said the Cemetery Sexton had talked to some bidders before the bids. <br /> Attorney Currens said he was out of state at the last meeting and his recommendation was to take <br /> the lowest bid. The lowest bidder was LSG. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with <br /> a second by Councilman Langley to approve LSG for a two year period, 2009 and 2010 with <br />
