Attorney Currens preparing the contract. Motion carried 4-1. Councilman Cook was opposed <br /> and said he wanted to re-bid. Shayna Starnes spoke saying they had submitted a bid and wanted <br /> the c6uncil to know she is perfectly fine with the motion and vote. She went on to say that at the <br /> end of the year they were told to come and re-sign the contract and then was told they had to re- <br /> bid, but the Cemetery Sexton told them to up their bid a little and they did. After the bids were <br /> opened the Cemetery Sexton called them and told them they didn't get the bid. Town Attorney <br /> Tim Currens explained the Town always re-bid at the end of a contract. <br /> A motion was made to make Council President Mark Harris a signatory on the 77 Police and Fire <br /> Pension buyback agreement by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook. Motion <br /> carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Langley to approve <br /> Council President Mark Harris as signatory for the agreement with Tri-County on storm water. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Les Farmer, Fire Chief, reported he had two change orders on the fire station. The changes total <br /> $4,700 and are within the budget. A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second <br /> by Councilman Cook to approve the changes. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, reported he carne back to work today following surgery. He <br /> said the Cemetery back section still has an outstanding permit for erosion control. They need to <br /> extend the pen-nit or plant seed. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Clark to approve <br /> payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Mooresville Town Council at this time a. <br /> motion was made by Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the <br /> meeting. <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim Currens was <br /> present. <br /> Jun`Taylor, Grace Church., gave the invocation. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Goodwin with a second by Councilman Cook to approve the <br /> minutes of March 17, 2009 meeting, <br /> Kevin Farrow, standing in for Angie Poynter, requested footprints be painted again this year for <br /> Relay for Life. This will be held on June 13 and 14, 2009. The footprints on North Indiana <br /> Street will be leading up to the High School as in the past.
