1008y;f' <br /> Of Other business: Councilman Cook brought up a complaint concerning parking on Sunset <br /> Manor and Maryville Court. The complainant wants a recommendation from the council <br /> with respect to snow and ice and parking on one side of the street and having to cross the <br /> street to get to their home. Councilman Cook recommended sending letters to residents <br /> to come before the council. The Town had an ordinance from 1977 for approximately <br /> twenty streets for no parking on one side of streets. Shortly after the signs were removed, <br /> so the ordinance was not followed by the Town. The Street Department has put up the <br /> signs again. Street Superintendent, Joe Beikman, said if there is parking on both sides of <br /> the street,the snow plows would not be able to get thru. That is why the ordinance was <br /> written in the first place. A letter will go out to residents to come in top the first meeting <br /> of the council in November about this issue. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Cook to enter <br /> into an agreement for professional services with HNTB on an on call basis. There is not <br /> fee for signing this agreement. This is an accounting issue for HNTB and they want the <br /> council to allow President Watkins to be the signatory for the document. Motion carried <br /> 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve <br /> the monitoring to go on another month at a cost$9,200 to be paid from Food and <br /> Beverage. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Cook to <br /> approve the second reading of Ordinance S,2011. Motion carried 4-0-1 abstention by <br /> Town Council President Watkins. He didn't want the public to think he was voting <br /> himself powers. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve Ordinance 9, 2011,the Crouch re-zone. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent,reported to the council he had reviewed the paving <br /> bids and the bid that best fits the specifications in the advertising is from Milestone, Inc. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to <br /> approve Milestone as the contractor in the amount of$252,129.55. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to <br /> approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was <br /> made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to adjourn the <br /> meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council is Tuesday, <br /> October 4,2011.
