1008y;f'
Of Other business: Councilman Cook brought up a complaint concerning parking on Sunset
Manor and Maryville Court. The complainant wants a recommendation from the council
with respect to snow and ice and parking on one side of the street and having to cross the
street to get to their home. Councilman Cook recommended sending letters to residents
to come before the council. The Town had an ordinance from 1977 for approximately
twenty streets for no parking on one side of streets. Shortly after the signs were removed,
so the ordinance was not followed by the Town. The Street Department has put up the
signs again. Street Superintendent, Joe Beikman, said if there is parking on both sides of
the street, the snow plows would not be able to get thru. That is why the ordinance was
written in the first place. A letter will go out to residents to come in top the first meeting
of the council in November about this issue.
A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Cook to enter
into an agreement for professional services with HNTB on an on call basis. There is not
fee for signing this agreement. This is an accounting issue for HNTB and they want the
council to allow President Watkins to be the signatory for the document. Motion carried
5-0.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve
the monitoring to go on another month at a cost$9,200 to be paid from Food and
Beverage. He didn't want the public to think he was voting
himself powers.
A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to
approve Ordinance 9, 2011,the Crouch re-zone. Motion carried 5-0.
Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent, reported to the council he had reviewed the paving
bids and the bid that best fits the specifications in the advertising is from Milestone, Inc.
A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to
approve Milestone as the contractor in the amount of$252,129.55. Motion carried 5-0.
A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to
approve payment of the claims.
