Council President Watkins announced the personnel manual had undergone a minor modification and may be ready for the next meeting. Joe Beikman, Street Superintendent,had looked into lights for Samuel Moore Parkway and presented a proposal of cost. Installation of lights would cost of$1,750 and monthly cost on electric bill of$1,200. Next,the council opened three cemetery mowing quotes. Starnes—mow and trim at the main cemetery-$525.00 per occurrence and $85.00 at the old cemetery- $85.00 Turf Tamers—mow and trim at main and old cemetery $450.00 per cut and to bush hog along the creek$100.00 per occurance Tri County—mow and trim at the main and old cemetery$880 per cut and bush hog along creek$180 per cut. The council will take quotes under advisement. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve the 2011 capital improvement plan. Motion carried 4-0. I Council President Watkins informed the council the police department had a contract for a lease for a copier. The lease is for sixty months. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook for Council President Watkins to sign the contract. Councilman Langley wanted to thank residents from Mooresville,Monrovia, and Martinsville for donating dog and cat food to the Humane Society. A motion was made by Councilman Langley with a second by Councilman Clark to approve payment of the claims. Motion carried 4-0. There being no fiu ther business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Langley to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 4-0. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on Tuesday,May 3, 2011, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. Guy Lancoure, First Baptist Church, gave the prayer. A motion was made by Councilman Clark with a second by Councilman Cook to approve minutes of April 5, 2011. Motion carried 4-0.
