Mrs. Berwick said the Pastor and her had been talking and they were <br /> friends, and he told her they were considering a latch key program which would bring <br /> more children and more traffic. Virginia Bowling, High Street, asked if they had <br /> considered using another church's fellowship house. Pat Gregory, living across the street <br /> from the church and attends the church, said the building can provide a way to contain <br /> the children inside. Mark Mathis spoke for the church saying he did not attend the <br /> church but felt there could be something worse there in that building. He thinks the <br /> church would work on the parking. Gina Carter, attends the church,told the board they <br /> have a car pool to save on parking. <br /> Mike Young informed the board and audience that code was 37 parking spaces for 175 <br /> people and probably the church could hold 175 people. He also said if they utilize the <br /> space at the Town Hall and Miller's Merry Manor, that would probably be in excess of <br /> 37 parking spaces. , <br /> Jon Swisher asked the Pastor if what he was hearing was correct,that their main concern <br /> was to build a handicapped restroom. The Pastor said yes plus more classrooms. <br /> Gary Folk, 126 South Jefferson Street, suggested putting No Parking signs in front of <br /> their homes and church members will abide. Teresa.Beanblossom, Sanctuary Lane,told <br /> the board members they try to park in public places where allowed. She wants neighbors <br /> to bring their parking complaints to the church. After a lot of discussion, a motion was <br /> • made by Alan Kramer, second by Jeff Justus,to approve the requests subject to Town of <br /> Mooresville applying No Parking at corner of Jefferson and Harrison Street and Broad <br /> Alley, and the church secure other parking in the area, other lots available,to the total of <br /> 37 parking spaces plus. Don Barry mentioned they might try talking to the Public <br /> Library on West Harrison Street,there would be no cars in their parking lot on Sunday. <br /> Motion carried 4-0.
