TOWN OF MOORESVILLE <br /> BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> MINUTES <br /> The Mooresville of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday April 12,2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the <br /> Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Members present were, President Jon Swisher, Alan Kramer, Mike Young, Charles <br /> McGuire and Neal Allman. Town Attorney Tim Currens was also present. <br /> The meeting was called to order by President Jon Swisher, Mr. Swisher asked for a <br /> motion on the minutes from the March meeting. Alan Kramer motioned to accept the <br /> minutes as written were the second was made by Neal Allman. The motion carried 5-0. <br /> The first thing on the agenda was Beverly Poole requesting a variance for a catering <br /> business at 57 W. High Street. Mrs. Poole explained that she has a garage on her property <br /> �Q that she would like to turn in a catering business. She would be making snacks for <br /> meetings parties, and etc. Mrs. Poole said that she would not have any signs or traffic. <br /> Mrs. Poole has been to the Morgan Co. Board of Health for information of what she <br /> needs to do to make this project up to spec. With a few more questions and the reading of <br /> the v e a motion to grant the variance with the understanding that this <br /> variance is for the Poole's only and pending on Morgan Co. Board of Health approval. <br /> The motion was seconded by Alan Kramer. The vote was 5-0.. <br /> At this time Ross Holloway came before the board asking for a variance to change an <br /> existing sign from a 3 faced to a 4 faced. The sign is located at State Road 67 and 144. <br /> Mr. Holloway gave the summary of the variance as,the previously approved setback of <br /> 20 feet will not change, the previously approved height of 40 feet will not change,the <br /> previously approved face size if 360 square feet per face will not change, the previously <br /> approved secondary sign (for public announcements) face of 60 feet per sign face will not <br /> change,the previously approved frame size of 10' X 16' will not change. The variance is <br /> to allow four primary sign faces (360 square feet per face) and four secondary signs faces <br /> (60 square feet per face) on the structure. Mr. Holloway said that with the three faces that <br /> one face was really of no use. Mr. Young asked if it would be a rectangle, Mr. Holloways <br /> response was yes it will be a rectangle. Mr. Young also asked if there would be any <br /> animation on the information signs, Mr. Holloway said that there would not be any <br /> animation and all previous restrictions do still apply. With no further questions from the <br /> Board or the floor and the reading of the variance of development standards by President <br /> Swisher. President Swisher asked for a motion. Charles McGuire moved that the request <br /> for the variance from a three faced sign to a four faced be approved, the second came <br /> from Alan Kramer, the motion carried 5-0. <br /> . Next on the agenda was Holloway for James Ballard asking for a variance at 359 E. Main <br /> street to allow a 50' X 36' warehouse storage building in a B-2 zoned district. <br />
