Board of Zoning Appeals Minutes May 08,2008 The Town of Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on May 08, 2008 at the Mooresville Government Center at 6:00 p.m. Present were Chairman, Jon Swisher, Mike Young, Alan Kramer, Robert Williamson,Neal Allman and Town Attorney, Tim Currens. Meeting was called to order by Jon Swisher. Motion was made by Neal Allman, second by Mike Young to approve the minutes of April 10, 2008. Motion carried 5-0. On the agenda was Attorney Mark Peden,representing Michael and Carolyn Kemp, asking for a Variance for a small fabricating parts business called Omega Fabricating at 12675 N. Gasburg Road. The business would be conducted in a 60x100 ft.metal building at the back part of their property between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:30p.m. They make small metal parts used on golf carts,hand rails, flag poles, etc. The company put up the hand rail on the Government Center and also installed the flag poles at the side of the building.It is a family business, with the wife doing the bookwork and the three sons and a couple of part time employees working with the husband. There will be no noise or smoke, nor will there be any customer traffic. There will be occasional deliveries from UPS, Fed Ex. Across the street is a structure used for a Rodeo. Mike Young made a motion to approve the Variance and second by Robert Williamson. Motion carried 5-0. Last on the agenda was for reorganization. Mike Young nominated Jon Swisher for Chairperson and second by Robert Williamson. Motion carried 5-0. Jon Swisher nominated Robert • Williamson for Vice Chairman and second by Neal Allman. Motion carried 5-0. Jon Swisher nominated Neal Allman for Secretary and second by Robert Williamson. Motion carried 5-0. A motion to adjourn was made by Robert Williamson and second by Mike Young. Motion carried 5-0. The next Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting will be held on June 12, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. K
