TOWN OF MOORESVILLE <br /> BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> FEBRUARY 11, 2010 <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday February 11, 2010. <br /> The meeting was held at the Government Center at 6:P.M. <br /> Members present were Chairman Neal Allman, Board members Mike Young and Allen <br /> Kramer. Ann Whaley was absent. Also present was Tim Currens the Town Attorney. <br /> The recorder did not work for this meeting, the minutes will be done on what notes that <br /> were made and memory. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:p.m. at which time Chairman Allman ask for <br /> approval for the minutes of the last meeting which was November 12, 2009. motion to <br /> approve the minutes as written was made by Alan Kramer seconded by Mike Young the <br /> motion carried 3-0 with none opposed. <br /> The first item on the agenda was HB & SD for a sign variance: No one appeared at this <br /> time it was tabled. <br /> Mr. Larrison came to the board for Stan and Stewart O'Dell asking for several variances, <br /> they are; reductions of front side and rear setbacks, width to depth ratio and minimum <br /> Parking lot requirements. Mr. Larrison that these were all necessary to be able to sell the <br /> beauty shop separately(the legal description will be attached to the minutes)after some <br /> Discussion about this being an old property, it was plated in 1840 and the house built in <br /> 1889. Mr. Currens said that would be used as it is being used at this time. After the <br /> reading of the findings of fact from development standards, a motion to approve the <br /> variances as presented was made by Alan Kramer seconded by Mike Young; the motion <br /> carried 3-0 with none opposed. <br /> The next item was John and Patricia Ratcliff asking for a variance to use a detached <br /> garage on the property at 5248 E. St, Rd. 144 for auto repairs. Mr. explained that he has a <br /> detached garage that he wants to use as an auxiliary garage to take the over flow from his <br /> garage in town. He said he needed a bigger lift so that he could take bigger trucks which <br /> he can not get in the garage on Clay Street. He said that he could also spend more time <br /> with his family working at home some. Mr. Ratliff said that he will be able to make more <br /> parking which could hold 30 vehicles; he also had pictures of other business on St Rd <br /> 144. Phil Weidman from 5284 E St Rd 144 came in opposition to this variance, Mr. <br /> Weidman explained that with his drive was next this drive to the drive that goes back to <br />
