TOWN OF MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
MINUTES
THURSDAY APRIL 26, 2007
The Mooresville Planning Commission met in regular session April 26, 2007 at the
Mooresville Government Center, 4 East Harrison Street at 6: p.m.
Planning Commissioners present were Chairman Mike Young, Commissioners, John
Ehrhart, Charles McGuire, Charles Berwick, Darrell Brown and James Logan and Robert
Williamson. Town Attorney Tim Currens was also present.
Chairman Young stating that a correction was made on the minutes of the TOA rezone to
send an unfavorable recommendation to the Town Council vote was 4 to 1, with
Commissioner Brown voting against the recommendation. With no other changes,
Commissioner Logan motioned to accept the minutes, the second came from
Commissioner Ehrhart. The motion carried 6-0.
First on the agenda was Holloway&Associates asking for the Amendment to the Long
Meadow Plat be moved to the May meeting, the notices were not correct, new notices
were sent as well as new advertising. Long Meadow will be continued until the May
meeting it will be advertised.
John Larrison for Holloway&Associates came before the Board asking for an
amendment to the TOA rezone from R-3 to a Residential PUD. After hearing the
concerns from the April meeting, about the property being sold in the future and being
used as rental property. They would add a plat note that the property would not be sold as
a rental property but, could be sold as condos. The Bridgemor Village Developer Terry
Neer along with his brother Larry Neer, said that they have issues with the property being
used in this way. With no garages there is not even a place for trash cans. They have
more homes to sell and he feels that it would be hard to explain this to future buyers. He
said that they would oppose anything except a single family home. One of the
Commissioners said that he was proud of the Bridgemor project and would not want to
do anything to hurt this community. Commissioner Ehrhart said that he thought that they
were going to bring back that would be more consistent with the neighboring project. Mr.
Larrison said that they were just asking for an amendment and that they would have time
to go back to the client to come back with something more pleasing. President Young
said that he could not in vision anything that would be expectable. Commissioner Brown
spoke to say that he did not vote with the other Commissioners last month was that he
wanted to be fair to all concerned. A motion was made by Commissioner Ehrhart to deny
the request the request to amend the petition from Ag. to R-3 to from Ag. to a Residential
PUD. The motion was seconded; the vote was 6-1 to deny the request.
0
