i
MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
MINUTES
THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 2007
6:00 P. M.
The Mooresville Plan Commission met on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 6:00 P. M. at the
Mooresville Government Center.
Plan Commission members present were: Chairman Mike Young, James Logan, Charles
Berwick, John Ehrhart, Robert Williamson, and Charles McGuire. Darrell Brown was
absent. Attorney Tim Currens was present.
A motion was made by Commissioner Ehrhart with a second by Commissioner Berwick
to approve the minutes of the May meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Young read a letter asking about the rezone of property on Bridge Street for
TOA, USA at the Town Council meeting on June 19, 2007. This rezone had not been
voted on by the Board of Zoning Appeals or the Plan Commission and felt as if the
integrity of both boards was usurped. Commissioner Berwick stated he did not know the
Plan Commission had told Mr. Holloway to go before the Town Council. Commissioner
McGuire asked about the recommendations the Plan Commission makes to the Town
Council. Attorney Currens answered there were three choices of recommendations and
that recommendation has to go to the Town Council. He went on to say the statutes were
followed, but he did think the Plan Commission should put their recommendation to the
Town Council in writing with comments to certify the recommendation. Tim Currens
and Ross Holloway were both absent at the last Plan Commission meeting, so both think
the rezone was never certified. Ross Holloway said the goal was to get them something
nice to provide for their employees and acceptable to the neighbors. He did not intend to
go over the Plan Commissions authority. He still thinks he can make the project work for
everyone concerned. Commissioner Young said that building plan was never brought to
the Plan Commission. He said this would have to be brought to the July meeting of the
Plan Commission because the petition is still alive, but not certified. This will be on the
agenda for July as a rezone from Agriculture to R-3.
Ross Holloway representing North Madison Crossing brought a request to replat lots to
increase their size. Commissioner McGuire said the tech revuemmittee had a
question about the homes being on slabs. Mr. Holloway said 'no slabs, crawl space or
basements only. A motion was made by Commissioner Ehrhart with a second by
Commissioner Logan to approve removing lots 41 and 46 and redistributing among other
lots. Motion carried unanimously.
40
