MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
MINUTES
THURSDAY DECEMBER 1.0 2009
The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday December 13,
2009. The meeting was held at the Mooresville Government Center 4 E. Harrison Street
At 6:00 p.m.
Members present were, Chairman Mike Young, Commissioners Ann Whaley, Perry
King, Jeff Dieterlen, charie .ccrreic and Darrell Brown. Absent was Commissioner
Brian Anderson. Town attorney Tim Currens was also present.
Chairman.Young called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., at this time he ask for any
additions or corrections, with additions or corrections Chairman Young asked for a
motion to accept the minutes. A motion was made by Commissioner Dieterlen to accept
the minutes as written, with the second coming from Commissioner King, the motion
carried. The motion carried 5-0 with none opposed.
Ross Holloway return for Charlie Henard on a(2 lot Minor Plat) Allison Rd. and St Rd
67. Mr. Holloway reminded the Commission that this Minor plat had been before this
Commission before, in November a motion to approve with the contingency that access is
granted for a separate access the vote was 4-2 nothing could be done at that time. Mr.
Holloway said that nothing has changed; he said that INDOT would not grant a separate
drive until they have a separate lot. Mr. Holloway asked that this be approved with the
same contingency that they will have a separate entrance for lot 2. Chairman Young
asked for questions from the Commission, Commissioner Dieterlen asked of Mr.
Holloway if he understood correctly that nothing has really changed, Mr. Holloway yes
that is correct. Commissioner Dieterlen asked if there would be any guarantee of a
separate drive even if the plat was approved, the answer was no, there not being any
guarantee. After more dialog on there being no guarantee of the second access;
Commissioner Brown said that he still has the same issues about(Fire Dept. protection)
by adding the parking there is still an issue if there is an incident. Commissioner Brown
also said that putting another entrance in or it could solve one problem and create
another; he said that he just doesn't have a good solution to this. Mr. Holloway said that
at least there would be two entrances and that would help. He said that there is some
benefit to the second entrance and they would not move forward without it. Once again
Chairman Young asked for any questions or concerns, with no other questions
Commissioner Brown with his concerns with the access motioned to deny the plat. A
second was made by Commissioner King; the vote was 5-0 to deny the request for the
plat.
0
