out and that if there were any remonstrances at that time that it would be <br />heard. <br /> <br /> The next item on the agenda was the variance request of Roger Caperton, <br />Steven Buchanan, and Donald Stafford requesting a variance from the development <br />standards of the Subdivision Control Ordinance of 2 1/2 to 1 on lots 10, 11, <br />24, 25, and 39 at Roberson Woods Subdivision located on highway 67 and Bridge <br />Street. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buchanan advised that there were lots platted around a lake area and <br />that the lake area was established for drainage and water retention. The <br />retention area is an item required to satisfy the Indiana Department of <br />Environmental Management. Restrictions and the layout of the subdivision must <br />conform to the existing proposed plat to meet those requirements. Mr. Buchanan <br />also advised that they wanted to preserve the quality of the lake by allowing <br />the property owners to retain ownership of the lake. <br /> <br /> Board member Robert Tucker, noted that at the Planning Cormnission meeting <br />held last month that the developers indicated that the west end of the project <br />would be consistent with the depth ratio contained within the Subdivision <br />Control Ordinano~. The board then reviewed the minutes of last months Plan <br />Commission meeting and determined that the current request of the applicants <br />was not inconsistent with the determination of the Planning Commission. Mr. <br />Buchanan further indicated to Mr. Tucker that the ownership of the lake would <br />be accomplished by an easement provision contained within all of the deeds of <br />the lots adjoining the lake. <br /> <br /> Steve Saucerman, a remonstrator, inquired as to the purpose of the ratio. <br />Don Barry advised that the Subdivision Control Ordinance had a 2 1/2 to 1 width <br />to length ratio that had to be fulfilled unless a variance request was granted. <br />Mr. Saucerman inquired as to what the applicants were requesting it to be changed <br />to. Mr. Buchanan advised that with regards to lots 10, 11, 24, 25 and 39 that <br /> <br /> <br />
