MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met at its regularly
scheduled meeting on Wednesday, the 18th day of November, 1987,
at the Mooresville Town Hall. Present were board members Tilford
Bailey, Donald Barry and Warren Franklin. The board's attorney,
Timothy C. Currens, was also present. The meeting was called to
order by Tilford Bailey who determined there was a quroum present.

The board proceeded to approve
and findings of fact. The next
petition filed by Paul Bryant.

Paul D. Bryant presented his

the minutes of the prior meeting
item on the board's agenda was the

petition for a variance from

the use under the Town's zoning ordinance for the property located
at 55 West Main Street. Mr. Bryant requested the variance on this
property which is currently zoned residential for the use as an
office for the Coleman Agency which handles real estate and insurance
matters. Notices were found to be in order. Mr. Bryant stated
that he wanted to use this structure for the agency and felt that
it was consistent to the other similar uses in this area with
there being some general business locations within the block and
across the street. He stated that although the property was
currently residential it was difficult to rent and this type of use
would be more compatible at this time. He stated that he did not
want to rezone the property and be the first of the residential
uses to ask for rezoning. The board then asked for questions from
the floor. There being no questions, the board proceeded to a
discussion and findings of fact as folllows:
