MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met at its regularly
scheduled meeting on August 19, 1987 at the Mooresville Town Hall.
Present were board members Steve O~hma~ Warren Franklin and
Tilford Bailey. Also standing in for board attorney, Timothy C.
Currens, was attorney Michael A. Ksenak. The meeting was called
to order by Chairman Oschman who determined that a quorum was
present. The Board then proceeded to approve the minutes of the
prior meeting.

The Board then proceeded to the first item on the agenda which
was the petition of June Harris requesting a variance to allow two
family dwellings on a single lot. Mrs. Harris advised that there
were presently one family in the house and one family in an
apartment and that this is the same situation as the previous owner
had who also had a variance. She stated that it first came to her
attention recently that she needed to apply for a variance to continue
to have two families living on that lot.

It was the Board's recollection that the prior owners had been

in approximately two to three years ago and had received a variance
on this property.

The Board asked if there were any remonstrators present. A

Mr. Baldwin stated that the property in question was originally a
grocery store and donut shoppe, that it was then sold and converted

to a flower shop
neighborhood was
only temporary.

Mrs. Harris advised that the two properties were on the
water and sewage system but the two residences are separate

and it is now an apartment. He advised that the
originally told that the apartment situation was

same
on the
