He advised that he could not work anywhere else and <br />needed this job for income. <br /> <br /> A Mrs. Day also advised that this was her sole employment and that her <br />husband was disabled and unemployed. <br /> <br /> The Board turned to the floor and inquired whether any remonstrators were <br />present. Jerry Mayfield advised that he h~d filed the original complaint against <br />the Mannings. He also informed the Board that there were covenants in the deeds re- <br />stricting this type of operation. When his complaint was originally filed it <br /> <br /> took the Mannings a long time to clean up the property. He advised that the <br /> home is now in worse shape than it has ever been. He advised that the building <br /> in the back yard was a pole barn and is not conducive to single family dwelling <br /> area. Traffic also parked on the side of the street with no parking posted. <br /> Mr. Mayfield said the question is whether a business should be allowed to <br /> operate there at all, not whether the Board should allow a business for the <br /> handicapped. <br /> <br /> Sherry Stewart asked the Board if the variance was granted what authority <br /> did they have to keep the property in good condition. Steve Oschman indicated <br /> that the Board could impose restrictions on the granting of this variance. Mr. <br /> Mayfield advised that it took 5 months before to clean up the sawdust and he <br /> feels the Board cannot enforce their restrictions. <br /> Mitzie Forbes advised the appearance of the property in question was not <br /> in keeping with the neighborhood. She has observed outside storage and the <br /> driveway is full of mud. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mayfield advised that the Board should at least go out and look at <br /> <br /> the property and Mr. Stewart agreed. <br /> <br /> Ros Stovall advised that the Mannings w~u~d create a drive with gravel <br /> <br /> <br />
