Board attorney Currens read Ordinance #2-1988 in full to the board. This rezoning ordinance is for the property of Richard and Marjorie Newcomer, located at 227 South Madison Street, to be rezoned from residential to general business. On a recommendation from the planning commission motion was made by Dick Heald and second by Pat Overholser to approve this ordinance. Motion carried. Trustee Fiscus advised the board that five of the new chairs have been delivered to town hall with the remainder to be delivered in the near future. Judge Frank Knight complimented the utility people on the job they are doing around town hall. Trustee Dick Heald advised the board that some of the headstones at the town cemetery are in need of repair and some trash needs to be cleaned up in the cemetery. Fire Chief Jim Bruner advised the board that the ISO has given the town a rating of four, which will result in a savings on insurance to some of the property owners in town. Chief Bruner thanked the town board for their cooperation in helping the fire department receive this rating. Park Superintendent Brent Callahan advised the town board that the Park Board passed a resolution on the pool project. The town board was advised that the park board will need some assistance in carrying petitions for the bond issue for the pool. The park board also approved an internship program for a summer recreation program for the park department. Motion was made by Steve Edwards to approve the bills and claims. Pat Overholser second. Motion carried. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Board will be Tuesday, February 16, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.
