Indiana <br />Street then spoke and stated that she felt somethin~ ought to be worked out but <br />did not want a variance which might let other things come in. She stated that <br />she would agree for something to be 'passed but Just not a variance. <br /> <br /> William Hood than spoke again and stated,tthet he did not feel that strangers <br />would be brought into the cu~unity by this business and that the walk-in business <br />would not be frequent at all. Hrso Cox stated that if there vas a sign that <br />people might stop in and. Hrs. Englebert stated that it is in a school zone and <br />church zone and created a traffic problem. <br /> <br /> Wendell Thaler than requested information regarding the telephone and <br />whether or not there would be advertising in the paper to build up business. Hr. <br />Hood stated that he would advertise in the Tines to build up business but hopefully <br />not over a long period of tine and thought that he would continue to use his same <br />phone if the phone company would allow him to. <br /> <br /> Dale and Leona Heshelman of 78 B. Carlisle Street spoke. They stated that <br /> it was a residential area and a sign~ould not be good to havein that it shows <br /> the use other than residential. <br /> <br /> Tilford Bailey then advised the Board members that he lived in this neighbor- <br /> hood and would withdraw from voting on this topic or entering in to the discussion <br /> due to a potential conflict of interest. <br /> <br /> Hr. Hood stated that the bus,ness he hoped would be similar to that of <br /> Charlie Nelson which had little traffic and he felt a maxinumwould be 1 to 2 <br /> people a week. The Board then proceeded to a discussion on this matter. Steve <br /> Oschman stated that the sign seemed to be the biggest problem to him. Wendell <br /> Thaler felt that if the sign was dropped that the use would not be detrimental <br /> in any manner and would meet the standard as set out for a variance of use. <br /> A~ter further discussion Chairman Oschman opened up the meeting for a motion <br /> for against the petition as filed.
