I have discussed this situation with

Newby Principal Jim Forester, Indiana Dept. of Transportation Traffic Engineer,

Michael L. Hofinann, and Joe Siekman ofthe Mooresville Street Department. I have

voiced my concern of children, ranging in age 5 years to 13 years, walking on the

sidewalk within inches of vehicles traveling at a minimum of thirty miles an hour.

1 feel the safety of children should be our fIrst and foremost priority, therefore it is my

recommendation to reduce the posted speed limit to twenty-five this zone. I further

recommend that Mooresville adopt an ordinance reducing all "School Zones" to twenty-

five mile an hour zones.

Thank you for your help ,in this matter,

-.:", -

,':¿Z

--

I

/ Timothy
