<br />-2- <br /> <br />on public property; (6) a vehicle that has been removed by towing service, <br /> <br />town agency upon request of a town marshall or other law enforcement officer <br /> <br />enforcing a statute or ordinance other than this ordinance, if the vehicle once <br /> <br />impounded is not claimed or redeemed by the owner or his agent within fifteen <br /> <br />(15) of its removal; or a vehicle that is six or more model years old and <br /> <br />mechanically inoperable, and is left on private property continously in a location <br /> <br />visible from public property for more than thirty (30) days. However, this <br /> <br />shall not apply to any use that is properly zoned to deal with automobile repair, <br /> <br />storage, scrap yard or junk business that process metal or sell parts through a <br /> <br />junk yard business. <br /> <br />"Owner!! means the last known record title holder of a vehicle according to <br /> <br />the records of the Bureau of Hotor Vehicles under Indiana Code 9-1-2. <br /> <br />"Parts" refers to all components of the vehicle that as assembled do not <br /> <br />constitute a complete vehicle. <br /> <br />"Person" means individuals, firm, corporation, association, fiduciary, <br /> <br />or governmental entity. <br /> <br />"Private Property" means all property other than public property. <br /> <br />"Bureau" refers to the Bureau of Hotor Vehicles. <br /> <br />"Public Agency" means the bureau of local agency given responsibility by <br /> <br />or ordinance for removal, storage, and disposal of abandoned vehicles. <br /> <br />"Public Property" means a public right of way, street, highway, alley, <br /> <br />park, state, or municipal property. <br /> <br />"Towing Service" means a business that engages in moving or removing <br /> <br />disabled vehicles and, once removed, to store or impound vehicles. <br /> <br />"Vehicle" refers to an automobile, motorcycle, truck, trailer, semi-trailer, <br /> <br />tractor, bus, school bus, recreation vehicle, or motorized bicycle. <br /> <br />"Public Agency" means the Bureau of Hotor Vehicles or the Town of Mooresville. <br /> <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />, <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />, <br />I <br />[ <br />¡ <br />, <br />¡ <br />I <br />, <br />ì <br />I <br />, <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />t <br /> <br />SECTION III. <br /> <br />Liability of Owner. The owner of an abandoned vehicle is responsible for <br /> <br />the abandonment and is liable, to the extent of the market value of the vehicle, <br /> <br />for all of the costs, incidental to the removal, storage, and disposal of the <br /> <br />vehicle or the parts. <br /> <br />SECTION IV, <br /> <br />Notice Tags; Abandoned Vehicle Report; Disposal or Storage of Vehicle. <br /> <br />A town marshall who finds a vehicle or parts believed to be abandoned <br /> <br />shall attach in a prominent place a notice tag cont~ining the followtng <br />
