Chief Viles stated that he is <br /> wishing to increase the $500 to a higher amount for Detective Yarnell, for being the <br /> detective. Commissioner Kays stated that he would go along with that if everyone <br /> received the same increase. Town Attorney Tim Currens stated that maybe at the next <br /> meeting everyone should discuss the possibility of the increase since the salary <br /> ordinance will be approved in December. <br /> Commissioner Berwick inquired how they could ask for an increase because they had <br /> nothing to do with the financial part of the Police Department and Town Attorney Tim <br /> Currens stated that the Police Commission would be making a recommendation for the <br /> Detective's increase. Chief Viles advised that he is not talking about the salaries of the <br /> officers and civilians but the stipend that is given to the officer in the Detective's <br /> position.
