Jeff Pipkin
said the gift shop would come later and not be on the original abatement. Jeff also said there had
been talk of training dollars for employing 60% of local people. Attorney Currens stated the
plan does not have paying the difference on land but only purchasing the land. He also said the
county has access to bonding capacity thru disaster recovery money and that could be possible
low cost financing for them.
Attorney Currens felt like a statement of different incentives to the Sate of Indiana lets the State
know we would work with them. Commissioner Watkins stated he was supportive of offering
some kind of training dollars.
A motion was made by Commissioner Haskins to pay $70,000 towards real estate taxes
reimbursed over life of abatement and not to exceed $70,000, put $50,000 towards training if
hire 60% local and after year 3 if 75% are local employees pay another $25,000 towards training.
This equals $145,000 total plus abatement. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion to
approve. Motion carried 3-0.
Attorney Currens reported to the commission the Town had executed a Deed to the
Redevelopment Commission concerning real property that was going to be used for the transfer
to Indy Tractor in exchange for them puffing in a road that accessed this business, 2 out lots, and
the Adams property. The Redevelopment Commission will execute the Deed to Indy Tractor in
exchange for the road being constructed pursuant to the Plat approved by the Plan Commission.
Attorney Curren will want a signed agreement from Indy Tractor acknowledging their
consideration (construction of the road) as the reason for the transfer of the property to them
from the Redevelopment Commission.
There being no further business a motion was made by Commissioner Watkins with a second
by Commissioner Haskins to adjourn the meeting.
Aar.
Chairman
ATTE lT:
i
•
gir__
`Seer ary
it
