Mooresville Plan Commission Minutes <br />February 26, 2015 <br />Members present: Mike Young, Perry King, Virginia Perry, Jeff Dieterlen, Bill <br />Colbert and town attorney Tim Currens. Commission member Brian Anderson <br />arrived during the meeting. <br />Mike Young announced at 6:05pm that the Plan Commission was waiting on <br />the arrival of a member or two, so that quorum would be in attendance, he <br />apologized that the meeting would start late. <br />Mike Young called the meeting to order shortly after 6:00pm, he called for a <br />motion on the previous minutes. Perry King made a motion to accept the <br />minutes with the correction that he was in attendance at the January meeting; <br />the motion was seconded and passed to include the correction. <br />First item in the agenda was presented by Ross Holloway on behalf of the Perry <br />family of 3734 E. Millchouse Ln and Hali Mynatt of 137 E. Carlisle St. The <br />request is a special exception to allow for hosting of special events, such as <br />weddings, in the family's farming barn. Ross Holloway stated that the hosting <br />of events in this setting is within the Town's Master plan to promote small town <br />charm. The special exception is being sought rather than a rezone due to the fact <br />that the family will continue to farm the area and use the barn accordingly <br />during non- event times. Ross Holloway stated on behalf of the family that their <br />plan was to host approximately twelve events a year, a business would attempt <br />to utilize the barn structure for events as often as possible so therefore again <br />reasoning for the special exception rather than a rezone. Ross Holloway <br />addressed the noise ordinance, music during events that go past 10:00pm will <br />be lowered or cease. The barn could hold as many as 450, but would typically <br />hold 200 individuals. Mr. Holloway said that in depth details regarding Life <br />Issues, Homeland Security, exits, fire suppress equipment, maximum <br />occupancy etc. Mike Young called for questions, Jeff Dieterlen asked in the <br />original filed application there was information on Agritourism, he does not see <br />�- that included in the presentation tonight.
