Mr. Darrell J. Sheets, 561 Maple Lane
Mrs. Betty Sheets, 561 Maple Lane
Mr. James Thompson, 71 Sunset Manor
Mrs. Helen Thompson, 71 Sunset Manor
Mr. William D. Delp, 70 Sunbury Drive
Mr. Benny Tinsley, 40 Maryville

The remonstrators objected to the business entity being
in the residential neighborhood by reason of the fact that they
felt it would decrease the value of their property at this time
and in the event of sale; that it would increase the traffic on
the street wherein people would be coming to the residential home
for the classes or purchasing supplies at the Walker home and that
they had bought in this area for the purposes of establishing their
home and did not wish to have further encroachments for business
activities therein.

After considering the evidence presented in the case,
a motion was made by Mr. Paul Walters that the Petition be denied,
and the variance not be granted, as there were no exceptional or
extraordinary circumstances or conditions applicable to the property
or to the intended use that do not apply generally to the other
property or class of use in the vicinity and district in which the
Walker home is located; that the granting of such variance would
materially be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to
the property or improvements in the district in which the Walker
residence is located and that the granting of such variance would
alter the land use characteristics of the district in which the
Walker property is located and diminish the marketable value of
adjacent land and improvements and cause or add to traffic congestion
in the area.

The motion was seconded by Mr. Ray House and such motion
was unanimously passed by all members present.

The Board responded to two inquiries which were made by
property owners in Mooresville in regards to interpretation of
the zoning laws on setback lines. Final determination of these
questions would have to be answered by the Building Inspector and/or
Technical Committee of the Plan Commission.

There being no further business to come before the Board,
upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.

Steve Edwards, Chairman

Nan Kollmeyer

- 2 -
