MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
@IN11113.7
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2018 6:OOpm
Members present: Harold Gutzwiller, Joe Beikman, Bill Boyd, Tim Corman and Don Stultz. School board
appointee Larry Moore was present. Project Manager Chelsey Manns was present.
As Chairman's prerogative, Commissioner Gutzwiller noted that Attorney Currens notified the
Commission after the last meeting of his retirement. Having worked with him for decades in different
capacities, Commissioner Gutzwiller thanked him for his service and friendship.
A motion was made by Commissioner Beikman and seconded by Commissioner Stultz to approve the
executive session and public meeting minutes from January 11. The motion carried 5-0.
Financials were presented by email from the Clerk -Treasurer previously. Commissioner Corman made
the motion to accept the financials as presented. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Boyd and
it passed 5-0.
Public Comment:
Prior to any public comments, Manns noted that at the last meetings, four questions had been asked
that she had looked into:
• What to do with the brick pavers that previously were in the sidewalks along Indiana Street are
a decision of the Town Council. She noted that she expects that to be discussed at the next
Town Council meeting.
• The bronze plaque that was fabricated to commemorate the donors of the brick pavers has
been installed inside the Government Center near the east door by the Clerk Treasurer's office.
• The plaque and rock previously located at the corner of Indiana and Main has been returned to
Bicentennial Park and is now in the northeast corner.
• Addressing the wayfinding signs, the placement is within the right-of-way and is in accordance
with Town Ordinances. Additionally, there's also architectural standards for letter height vs
distance from turn/intersection. Moving it closer might not allow safe deceleration to turn,
moving it farther away might cause people to miss it, since they're not looking for information
yet. They are correctly located for your speed limit, sign letter size, and intersection lane
configurations.
No public comments currently.
Southbridge Crossing: Commissioner Corman shared that work had been done to move The Daisy Baby
in the new space at the north end of Southbridge Crossing. With that addition, that makes the space
fully occupied. Commissioner Gutzwiller stated that Requests for Qualifications have been submitted
and two firms will be interviewed.
Gateway Project Update:
