Mooresville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners <br />Larry Bryant <br />Police Department Brian Wiser <br />Fred Settle <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on April 19, 2018 <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Brian Wiser and Fred Settle <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Allen, Charles Braun, Amanda Carvell <br />Call to order at 6:01 PM. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the minutes from the March meeting. Brian Wiser seconded <br />the motion. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the status of Probationary Officers Horgan and <br />Pope. Both officers completed their probationary year as of March 31, 2018 without any <br />problems. <br />Chief Allen advised the Police Commission on the statistics for the month of March. <br />Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that a full-time dispatcher had resigned and that he <br />had attended the Town Board Meeting on April 17'h and was granted permission to hire a <br />replacement. Chief Allen advised that a part-time dispatcher was interested in the position and <br />was given a conditional offer of employment with a start date of May 26, 2018. <br />Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that he currently had two officers on light-duty <br />assignment and one officer that had been injured in the line of duty but had already returned to <br />back to duty. <br />Chief Allen advised that he was replacing the department issued Tasers periodically as needed. <br />Chief Allen advised that the cost to replace one Taser is $1,170. <br />Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that he purchased two new computers for the squad <br />room as the company was offering a 2 for 1 deal. <br />Chief Allen was asked about the status of the new building. He stated that it was brought up in <br />the Town Board meeting by a citizen and that Town Board Member Mark Mathias advised that <br />they would soon be accepting bids on the new building. Chief Allen advised that he is currently <br />trying to keep the expenses down at the current building in anticipation of moving to the new <br />( building. Chief Allen advised that the Redevelopment Commission has set aside 1 million dollars <br />
