April 16, 2019 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, April 16, at 6:30 P. M. at the <br />Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were: Mark Mathis, Dustin Stanley, Jessica Hester, and Council President Tom <br />Warthen. Councilman David Rogers was absent. Town attorney Mel Daniel was present. <br />Tom Warthen gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley with a second by Councilwoman Hester to approve the <br />minutes of April 2, 2019. Motion carried 4-0. <br />New Business - <br />Mindy Taylor, Chamber of Commerce, met with the Police, Fire, and Street Departments on April 2nd and <br />made changes to the map and vendor forms for the Block Party to be held on June 8th. The Kid Zone is <br />on West Main Street and the Fire will have the First Aid. There is also a golf outing scheduled for the <br />26th of June. There were 60 volunteers for the Joe Beikman Clean Up Day. <br />New Business: Adam Britton talking about parking on the street: He had been issued a parking citation <br />for parking on the south side of the street. The 1982 Ordinance found on Laser Fiche and also went back <br />to a 1977 parking ordinance. <br />Attorney Daniel told the council there are companies that will codify the Ordinances and Resolutions. <br />Council President Warthen said we will need the cost for this. <br />Adam also talked about another issue he could foresee: As the older generations move out of the old <br />New Addition and new younger generations move in there will be more cars to each home. <br />There is still 14.7 feet if cars are parked on both sides of the street. Another subject Adam told the <br />council about was the Laser Fiche being hard to navigate. The council will see if upgrades are available. <br />Census Update- Dustin Stanley, President Tom Warthen and Julie in Public Works are representing the <br />Chicago Area. This is the first time the census can be answered on line. Council President Warthen told <br />the audience that the count is very important because the count gives us our revenue share, and <br />certified shares thru our schools. <br />Carlisle Street Barrier -This is for the tennis courts on Carlisle Street, something to protect people <br />observing the tennis matches. Dave Moore, Public Works, offered working with the school and get this <br />project done before paving Carlisle Street. Randy Taylor, Superintendent of Mooresville Consolidated <br />School, and Dave Moore came up with a wood barrier due to the drainage and infrastructure, sort of a <br />Brown County look. Will build at or off all drainage lines and Mr. Taylor offered some manpower from <br />the school. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilwoman Hester to proceed with the <br />Town's manpower on this project.
