1544 <br />Department Head Reports— <br />Matt Dalton, acting Fire Chief, gave an update on the baby box and anticipated that all tests and training <br />should be completed and operational by September 1. David Moore presented an agreement with a <br />traffic engineering company to conduct the traffic study on 67 from county line road to Indiana Street. <br />Councilman Warthen raised concerns about Monroe and Carlisle pedestrian traffic and installing a <br />crosswalk. Council President Williams will be reaching out to the School Superintendent about <br />partnering with the Town to fund this study. <br />Police Chief Julian gave an update on the current sirens, and let the Council know the test is scheduled <br />August 28 at 11:00 AM. He also gave an update on the hiring for current vacant positions, and the <br />callreport for the month. <br />Legal - <br />Phase 1 Sewage project is moving forward as far as talks with the property owners and getting close to <br />boring under SR 67. <br />Public Comments — None <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley with a second by Councilwoman Hester to approve claims <br />for $449,308.37 Motion Carried 4-0 <br />Town Council Comments — None <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />September 1, 2020, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. There being no further <br />business to come before the Council at this time, a motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Stanley <br />with a second from Councilwoman Hester Motion Carried 4-0. <br />Shane B.
