Om
Victorian Christmas street closing - Councilman Warthen gave an update that this event is being
canceled due to the lasting effects of COVID. The light poles still will be decorated and there will
be a tree, but there will not be a lighting ceremony this year.
Rezone 451 E County Line Road. Ross Holloway came before the council on behalf of MS
Holdings to request permission to rezone this land from 1-2 to B-3 with some commitments to
construct storage unit facilities at this address. He laid out the details of the commitments if
the rezone is granted as well as the things that could be constructed on the land under the
current zoning. The B-3 Zoning is designed in a more neighbor friendly layout.
Roberta Brackemyre presented herself before the council to oppose the installation of storage
units.
Julie Fennel, 1036 Indianapols Road presented herself before the council to oppose the
installation of storage units and present a petition with signatures of citizens in the
neighborhood who are also opposed to the installation of the storage units. Councilman Cook
asked about a couple of signatures on the petition that were not in town, and Julie stated that
those individuals are active in the town and the neighborhood even though they do not live in
the town limits.
Mr. Holloway then addressed some of the points that were presented by the citizens.
Councilman Warthen asked why the decision was made to request B-3 rather than 1-1 this was
because of space limitations in trying to accommodate the ability to not have an entrance on
both sides of the property.
There was some discussion about the LIDO and the best use of the land with or without the
rezoning.
Councilman Warthen made a motion to deny the rezone at this time. Councilman Cook
seconded. Motion carried 5-0
Department Head Reports:
Chief Dalton presented the monthly run statistics for the fire department.
Legal:
Town attorney Lee provided an update on the Merriman road project and the Phase 1
appraisal.
Public Comments:
None
Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve claims in the amount of $1,087,043.09.
