Em <br />Chief Dalton asked if there would be an update on a mask policy with the change in directives <br />from the CDC. Councilman Cook says it should be up to the individual and the department <br />heads. Councilman Williams would like to follow the CDC guidelines. Councilman Cook made a <br />motion to leave the decisions of mask guidelines up to the department heads. Councilman <br />Williams seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Brent Callahan with the parks department announced the first summer concert would be held <br />on Friday, May 21, and the aquatic center and zip line will open on Saturday, May 22. He is <br />working with the department of health on the masking guidelines <br />Legal — None <br />Public Comments— None <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve claims for $368,291.47. Councilman Swinney <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Stanley announced the Martinsville baby box ceremony is at 2 PM on May 19, <br />2021. He also mentioned that the RDC asked the attorney to draft a policy on electronic <br />participation. <br />Council President Warthen mentioned Concord Alley and that it is possible to shut that alley off <br />during the construction. Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve the closing of <br />Concord Alley to through traffic during the High Street construction. Councilman Swinney <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />June 1, 2021, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government center <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion to adjourn was made by <br />Councilman Stanley with a second from Councilman Swinney.
