made the motion to approve Declaratory Resolution 22-2021 approving the SB -1 for ReConserve <br />Indiana Inc. Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Rezone 136 E Harrison St.- Before the meeting, Mr. Holloway requested that this item be tabled. <br />Councilman Stanley made a motion to table, with Councilman Swinney seconding. Motion <br />carried 5-0 <br />Waste Water Treatment Plant Evaluation Agreement- This is to allow Sedgwick Valuation <br />Services to evaluate the assets of the Waste Water Treatment Plant to fall in compliance with the <br />requests and requirements of the State Board of Accounts. The cost of this service is $3,500. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve the agreement to perform the Waste Water <br />Treatment Plant asset evaluation. Councilman Stanley seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Warthen mentioned that Danny Tingle would be looking for a new employee as he <br />loses a Waste Water Treatment employee at the end of the month. <br />Department Head Reports - <br />Police Chief Julian mentioned that he will be recommending a candidate to the police <br />commission for hire and hopes to have the 22nd position filled soon. <br />Chief Julian is working on the relocation, installing the sirens and hopes to accomplish this in the <br />next 4 to 6 weeks. <br />There was some discussion about relocating the old siren at Newby School to the Police station. <br />He also mentioned an interagency agreement with the Mooresville Consolidated School <br />Corporation Police Department, which will go before the Council for approval. <br />Fire Chief Dalton presented a lease -purchase agreement for fifteen sets of PPE equipment for the <br />department. After some discussion, Councilman Stanley made the motion to allow the Chief to <br />gather the information about which groups of gear need to be replaced, measure the department <br />members for those sets, and do additional research before the surplus bids are opened at the July <br />6 meeting. Councilman Williams seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Chief Dalton is looking into ordering some bulletproof vests for approximately $7,500, including <br />applying for grants to help with the cost. There was some discussion about possibly using <br />COVID relief funds for the PPE. Councilman Cook agreed that the vests are needed. Councilman <br />Stanley also voiced his support for the purchase of the vests. <br />Dave Moore updated the town council on the Community Crossing Grant projects in Roberson <br />Woods, Glenview, and Broad Alley. <br />Legal — <br />None <br />Public Comments — <br />Josh from the Sons of the American Legion came before the Council to request road closure for <br />the Old Settlers Parade on August 8. Chief Julian expressed his favor of the new route. <br />Councilman Stanley made a motion to approve the road closures. Councilman Williams <br />seconded. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve claims for $354,038.85. Councilman Swinney <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Williams asked about an update on the Gateway lighting. Councilman Warthen <br />stated that the current contractor has the parts and will be completed shortly. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />July 6, 2021, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />
