Public Comments — <br />Braxton Hughes stated that he was upset that the K-9 unit was no longer being discussed. <br />Councilman Stanley noted that he would like to have a revised SOP, and Councilman Swinney <br />stated he agreed with awaiting on the department. Councilman Warthen wants to wait for an <br />updated SOP and wants to see the item back on the agenda sooner rather than later. <br />Rebecca Williams came before the council to thank the Town for helping and being a part of the <br />Victorian Christmas experience and stepping up the presence this year. <br />Kimberly Schofjeld cam b Tf re the council to ask why the Town does not have a mayor. Town <br />OP _ <br />Attorney Beth. stated a town could not have a mayor without being a city. The only <br />administrative input the Town can receive is from a town manager. <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims for $951,633.62. Councilman Cook <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments— <br />Councilman Cook stated that he is concerned with the council allowing public comments from <br />someone who does not live in the Town. The K-9 unit is being worked on to be fully funded and <br />sustainable by the Town. <br />Councilman Williams said thank you to the public and the Town for participating in Victorian <br />Christmas. He also thanked Dave Moore for his assistance with getting the Community <br />Crossings Grants and Julie for making sure all reports were turned in to the state. <br />Councilman Swinney commented that he believed the Victorian Christmas was great and <br />probably one of the best ones that the Town has ever had. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />December 21, 2021, at 6:30 P. M. at the. Mooresville Government Center <br />There being no further business to come before the council, a motion to adjourn was made by <br />Councilman Swinney with a second from Councilman Williams.
