71.5 <br />Steve Buchanan came before the council to remind the town that all residential streets in the Villages of <br />Eastmoore have been turned over to the town and requested the Street Department ensure that all <br />residential streets are included in the snow removal plan. <br />Mr. Buchanan also stated that the streetlights are not on and requested assistance from the town by <br />providing the number of lights the town is willing to pay. Town Attorney Lee will work with him to get <br />the figures to help create the HOA. He also expressed his disappointment with how the situation was <br />handled with the RDC seat of Virginia Perry being replaced. <br />Les Duncan stated his appreciation for the Bicentennial Park uses being on the agenda. He fully supports <br />the park being utilized more and looks forward to more events held at the park. <br />Dawn Horock came before the council to voice her displeasure with the replacement of Virginia Perry <br />on the RDC and not following the council policy. She also voiced her opinion that Bicentennial Park does <br />not have the parking to support large events. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims in the amount of $647,575.68. Councilman <br />Williams seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Cook stated he was embarrassed about the last meeting and for not following the policy on <br />the RDC board. He also thanked Virginia Perry for her service. <br />He addressed the canine policy and stated that his recommendations were passed along to Chief Julian. <br />Councilman Swinney stated he thought Erin was a good pick for the RDC and being unaware of <br />the policy that was enacted before he joined the council he nominated her for the seat. <br />Councilman Stanley apologized for not recognizing commissioners for their services and suggested <br />sending letters to commissioners at the end of their terms thanking them for their service. <br />Councilman Stanley will be reaching out to Baker Tilly for an update on the Capital Improvement Plan. <br />RDC meeting scheduled for February 3rd was canceled in anticipation of the inclement weather. <br />Councilman Stanley stated he was in contact with one of the vendors for the canine unit and is planning <br />on visiting with them to discuss all concerns, and asked Chief Julian to forward him any questions for the <br />vendor. <br />Council President Warthen addressed Virginia Perry and his appreciation for her service. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, February <br />15, 2022 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion to adjourn was made <br />by Councilman Swinney with a second from Councilman Cook. Motion carried 5-0 <br />
