1724-1 <br />Councilman Williams made a motion to have Town Attorney Lee draft ordinances for <br />Commission and Board Appointments policy, Nepotism and Conflicts policy, and Budget <br />procedures policy. Seconded by Councilman Cook. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Department Head Reports - <br />Park Superintendent Kris Wilson reported that some evidence of mold was found in the Parks <br />Department Office. The roof on the covered bridge has collapsed due to a fallen tree limb and <br />snow. Options and plans for repairs are underway. <br />Chief Julian gave an update on the grants for the body cams and the run statistics for January. <br />Legal — <br />Town Attorney Lee presented Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) <br />Resolution 9- 2022. <br />Councilman Stanley made a motion to approve Resolution 9-2022 and seconded Councilman <br />Williams. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Attorney Lee mentioned the BAN Anticipation Note engagement letter. <br />Councilman Williams motioned to enter into an agreement engagement letter with Taft Law for <br />bonding the sewer project. Seconded by Councilman Swinney. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Public Comments — <br />Teresa Karr approached the council regarding stormwater and sewer line issues on her property <br />at 142 E Harrison Street dating back to 2018. The council needed more information, and it was <br />a consensus to gather more information. Town Attorney Lee suggested having Dave Moore <br />look into the issue. <br />Payment of Claims - <br />Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve claims for $428,554.59. Councilman Swinney <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments— <br />Councilman Cook asked why Virginia Perry was replaced on the RDC as he is not aware of the <br />reasoning. <br />Councilman Williams asked for an update on the Villages of Eastmoore lights. Town Attorney <br />Lee has been in contact with them, awaiting some information. <br />Councilman Williams mentioned that the logo for the 200th -anniversary celebration would be <br />unveiled at the Chamber Lunch on Thursday. <br />Councilman Stanley shared his intent to visit a vendor for the canine unit. Town Manager <br />discussion was tabled until March 1st meeting. Councilman Stanley made a motion to table the <br />item and was seconded by Councilman Swinney. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />March 1, 2022, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council, a motion to adjourn was made by <br />Councilman Stanley with a second from Councilman Swinney. Motion Carried 5-0. <br />
