fhe meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at the Mooresville Public Library. In attendance, the board <br />members were Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Danny Shaw, Erin Bechtold, Mark Taylor, Matt Saner, and <br />David Pearson. Supt. Kris Wilson, Asst. Supt. Keelan Simpson and Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. Guests <br />include Tom Shock and Dave Richman. <br />Minutes of March 14, 2022, approved as presented. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by <br />Brian Wiser. Motion carried. <br />The meeting started with introducing the new Assistant Superintendent, Keelan Simpson. <br />Two appraisals are needed before the property adjacent to OTP can be open for sale, and appraisals <br />would be at the cost of the Park. Discussion ensued about keeping the property vs. selling the <br />property. Mark Taylor made the Motion to table the property sale, seconded by Brian Wiser. Motion <br />carried. <br />Supt. Wilson updated the Park Board on the ongoing office renovations. Regrading of the building is <br />complete and has resulted in no visible flooding in the area. In discussion with some contractors, a <br />few would require a full mold mitigation plan by an outside company before providing any quotes or <br />estimates. After visiting with multiple vendors, Supt. Wilson recommends the contractor Indiana Mold <br />remediation. They would do some of the work along with other contractors and internal work by the <br />park. An estimate of the project was provided including windows, ductwork, and some drywall <br />replacement. Soft surface furniture will also need replaced. Discussion ensued. Motion by Matt Saner <br />to approve the project scope for office renovation, including hiring Indiana Mold and begin work with <br />a cost not to exceed $33,446.00 to be requested from the Town Council. seconded by Lynn Adams. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Street Department took down the roof of the covered bridge the day after the March Park Board <br />meeting. The bridge was open back to pedestrians and soccer. The Park Board discussed the bridge's <br />future, and the Board agreed to rebuild the bridge to its original condition with the construction <br />timeline to be completed before Fall 2022. <br />Small steps are being taken to help the drainage at Bicentennial Park by isolating the sprinkler head, <br />digging down per the blueprint, seeing any noticeable breaks in the sprinkler heads or irrigation <br />junctions, and adding mulch to the flower beds. Jay Duvall, the property owner had said prior to the <br />meeting that they were having some difficulty getting contractors out because it included electric and <br />water. He understood the current plan and indicated that he would let the Park Board know if he <br />heard back from any contractors. <br />After talking with the attorney, Supt. Wilson informed the Board of the employment approval request. <br />IC 36-10-3-10 and 36-10-3-14 state the Board is tasked with establishing standards and qualifications <br />for all park personnel to be hired.
