Councilman Warthen requested additional time to find a <br />solution. <br />Interim Chief Chipman presented Resolution 13-2022 to declare certain weapons as surplus property. <br />Councilman Cook motioned to approve and was seconded by Councilman Swinney. Motion carried 4-0. <br />The department placed an order in December 2021 for ammunition, and it has still not been <br />delivered. Kesslers could not confirm MPD placed an order. Interim Chief Chipman requests permission <br />to use an alternate vendor. Legal counsel will contact the Interim Chief to discuss the next steps. <br />Interim Chief Chipman stated that there had been some high-intensity situations involving the <br />department and that he is proud of how the officers handled the cases. <br />Chief Dalton announced that the retirement party for Dave Jones is scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. <br />In addition, he has learned of another firefighter retiring in July. <br />Fire Chief mentioned IC code 36-8-12-16, which allows the fire department to charge individuals and <br />insurance companies for specific incidents. The homeowner would be responsible for reporting costs to <br />the insurance companies. Legal stated other municipalities have this fee schedule. <br />Legal — <br />Legal counsel reviewed the GRW Engineering contract, and the agreement is sufficient <br />and statutory requirements were added. <br />Public Comments— <br />Rob Samuels came before the council to voice his displeasure over statements made and the delays in <br />the public records requests he has made going back to April 8, 2022. <br />Rose Julian came before the council to voice her displeasure over comments from council members <br />about pursuit issues on social media and other statements made by council members. She requested an <br />incident with an Officer be investigated. <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims for $1,150,36.63. Councilman <br />Cook seconded. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Williams stated that he doesn't consider a statement by third parties as fact. The <br />ordinance is to take $25,000 from the rainy day fund and establishes a permanent fund that can be <br />budgeted accordingly. In addition, there is also a donation fund. <br />a14— <br />Councilman Williams received a call from Shannon C that the county has approached HWC <br />Engineering firm to work on a comprehensive plan and the county commissioners want to work with the <br />municipalities to address concerns within the buffer area. <br />Council President Warthen stated that he believes the town needs align themselves as a council for <br />what may happen when a developer wants to use the town resources. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, lune 21, <br />2022 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was made <br />by Councilman Cook with a second from Councilman Williams.
